We’d like to wish the ITF Scotland Team travelling to the European Championships the very best of luck this weekend.  The team depart from Edinburgh this morning, to Skovde, Sweden for the 28th Senior and 19th Junior European Championships.  This year Scotland have 24 competitors representing our country.

Mr Aaron Walker (1st Degree) and Mr Martin Clarke (8th Kup) both of GMAC Martial Arts Livingston has volunteered for a sponsored Leg-waxing in aid of the Five Sister’s Zoo Fire Appeal.

All at GMAC wish to support Aaron & Martin in their efforts to raise funds for this much loved local Zoo.  Please help them reach their fundraising goal and pledge what you can.

The sponsored Leg Wax will take place on Wednesday 24th April @ GMAC Martial Arts, Livingston.  Minimum donation for those at class who wish to help pull the wax strips off and watch them squirm!

On Sunday May 12th Mr Mark Davies (founder of Tactical Edge) will be conducting a seminar at GMac Martial Arts in Livingston.

We’ll be working on Combative training for personal defence. Over the course of 4 hours we’ll explore attribute development drills, pad drills for self defence, & applied self defence against common forms of attack. This seminar is open to ANY martial artists from ANY style or group!

Venue:  GMAC Livingston

Time: 10am – 3pm (with short lunch break)

Age:  Open to 14 years plus.

Dress:  This is not a TKD only seminar, please wear casual clothing.  No denim/football tops.

Sparring Seminar with Stephen Tapilatu V Degree.

The 2013 Scottish Championships were held in Ravenscraig Regional Sports Facility, Motherwell on 7th April.  29 Students were in attendance at the event from GMAC, with 318 competitors taking part from 18 schools.

The day started at 9.30am with a welcome speech from Tournament Committee member Mr McIlvaney, who welcomed our Grand Master,  Master’s, Instructors, Competitors, Supporters as  well as guests from A.C.E. who also entered the competition.

The umpires in attendance worked hard throughout the day to ensure that the event ran smoothly and to time.  A big thank you to all who gave up their time to referee.

Once again GMAC done well in the medal table coming 4th Overall.

This year GMAC have brought in a points system, meaning all students who enter each competition will pick up a point for doing so, and each medal will will also be allocated points (3 for Gold, 2 for Silver and 1 for Bronze medals).
